  • Saturday, July 7th – Bird Moon at Bass Creek Picnic Area, Bitterroot National Forest   Join Bitterroot Audubon for the Bird Moon.  Meet live owls and hawks and learn what makes them special.  Learn how to use binoculars to look for tiny birds and the key features for identification.   Learn about biomimicry—what it is and specifically how designers, architects, and engineers are using biomimicry to design quieter and more efficient transportation, colors without toxic chemicals, cooling systems, insulation, and windows that prevent bird collisions. 

Directions:  From highway 93, turn west onto Bass Creek Road and follow the signs to the picnic area.  Bass Creek Road is about 4 miles north of the Stevensville Wye and 4 miles south of Florence.
