Education
Bitterroot Audubon’s Education Program focuses on educating the general public about local birds and the habitats they occupy. This goal is met through our monthly speaker series, educational field trips, and specific programming.

For adults, we offer classes such as Beginning Birding and Winter Raptor Identification. Please check our calendar to find out about upcoming classes.

Bitterroot Audubon is proud to offer the Byron Weber Memorial Scholarship to students of at least sophomore standing in a natural resource field. To learn more about this scholarship and for an application, click here.

Bitterroot Audubon also participates in various activities to help educate the children around the valley. We participate in Kids in the Garden and we make use of National Audubon's Audubon Adventures Program which is geared for grades 3-5. Teachers can bring the natural world into their classrooms and connect kids to the environment. The title for each year's kit varies and covers a variety of topics, including birds and other wildlife, migration, pollinators, animal defenses, energy, and a variety of habitats such as forests, grasslands, and water habitats. If you would like to sponsor a classroom for Audubon Adventures, or would like information on how your classroom could participate, please contact our Education Committee Chair Leslie Nyce at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
